The Malibu Makos Surf Club offers private group lessons for parties of more than four students at a time. The Malibu Makos Surf Club guarantees the best instruction and equipment in the business. The Malibu Makos Surf Club offers group lessons for five to 60 students surfing at once. We also offer transportation services if needed. Group surfing lessons are great for team building among co-workers. “Let’s go for a real board meeting!”
The Malibu Makos Surf Club asks that you or your group schedule as far in advance as possible because equipment and instructor availability is occasionally limited.
- In scheduling group lessons please provide approximates of the following information:
- When? The earlier in the day, the better the conditions generally are.
- How many students?
- How long? We recommend at least 2 hour lesson.
- Where do you want to do the lesson? We recommend Zuma Beach in Malibu.
- How many instructors do you want? We recommend an 8:1 ratio depending on the sizes and ages of the students in your group.
- Do you need transportation? If so, from where?
- Be sure to include the approximate height and weight of each student (for equipment purposes)
Costs for Private Group Surfing Lessons are as follows:

$25.00 per person per hour (all equipment included)

$100.00 per hour for the first instructor
|
|
$75.00 per hour for each instructor thereafter
|
Transportation costs depend on the location and number of students needing transport.
Lessons can also include instruction in Ocean Safety, Kayaking, Swimming, and Body boarding.
